Proper adjustment of The STRONGARM® Cane

Follow these steps for best comfort & support from your STRONGARM®

A STRONGARM® Cane is properly adjusted when a user's shoulders are level as its hand grip top is level with the wrist opposite the injured leg (do not bend the hand in the elbow). To achieve this proper height adjustment, follow these steps:

  1. Turning it counter-clockwise, loosen Tube Nut;
  2. Depress brass Lock-Button on backside of lower tube;
  3. Move lower tube down to extend height as needed;
  4. "Pop" Lock-Button into selected adjustment hole and check for fit as described above;
  5. Turn Tube Nut clockwise until tight.

Using your STRONGARM® Cane

Grasp the STRONGARM® grip with your good hand, making sure your forearm is properly positioned in the support Cradle. Take the first step with your good leg, followed by simultaneously moving your affected leg and the STRONGARM® together to make the second step. Repeat. (Follow this same order when climbing or descending stairs.)

To use The STRONGARM® Cane as a "stand assist" around beds, chairs and sofas, etc., position The STRONGARM® sideways directly in front of you with its floor tip between your feet, steady yourself by grasping the grip with one hand and the Cradle with the other, and then push against the two cushioned surfaces to assist you in standing, or sitting down.
